Description of the output quadtree structure

Last updated: April 09, 2021

The structure of the quadtree is controlled by the extent of the input tiles, by the --nodeSize parameter and by the --resolution parameter.

The --nodeSize parameter controls the size of nodes. For a default value of 1, the leaf nodes cover about 400 pixels of ground resolution, and every level-of-detail node covers about 400 times the resolution of the node.

The --resolution parameter sets the resolution of the leaf nodes, in meters. This resolution must be set to the resolution of the reference 3D model. In the current version of ExportUniqueMesh, the quadtree has a uniform depth. In other words, it is assumed that all input tiles have the same resolution.

The output SRS and origin must be specified and can be chosen independently of the settings of the ContextCapture project.

The fill color setting is similar to the "Color of untextured regions" setting of a reconstruction in ContextCapture Master.
